Kara Ironside, LAMFT

Welcome, I'm Kara.

I believe that the courageous step of exploring therapy can lead to healing, growth, and a changed life.

I have a passion for bearing witness to each individual’s unique story. My work as a trauma therapist has sparked a passion in me to create safety when a client has been completely robbed of their sense of security. I have experience working with adolescents and families at the intensive out patient level of care, and enjoy partnering with teens at their unique stage of life to empower and equip them for fast approaching changes that can be overwhelming and challenging.

As a marriage and family therapist, I approach my sessions from systemic and attachment framework while working with families, couples, individuals and adolescents. I have received formal training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting. In my work at the Meadows, I have received extensive guidance in Pia Melody’s model which focuses on healing the inner child to get back to a place of believing one has inherent value and worth.

I take pride in offering a judgement free zone, where honest feelings, thoughts, and experiences can be shared openly. I am highly relational and direct with my clients, creating a therapeutic experience that will both encourage and cultivate insights.
